A Joyful Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year brought plenty of colour, laughter, and delicious food to Templeton House as residents and staff gathered to welcome the Year of the Snake in style. The home was beautifully decorated in red and gold, symbolising luck and prosperity, and everyone embraced the festivities with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm.
Our wonderful chefs prepared a mouth-watering three-course Chinese feast, which was enjoyed around beautifully set tables adorned with themed decorations. From fortune cookies to elegant napkin arrangements, every little detail made the meal feel extra special.

Many residents got into the spirit of the occasion by wearing traditional-style hats and posing with celebratory signs, making for some fantastic photos. The joy on their faces said it all—there was a real sense of togetherness as everyone took part in the fun. Even our staff joined in, dressing up and sharing the experience with residents.

One of the highlights of the day was the incredible fruit carving display featuring an intricately designed centrepiece shaped like a dragon. It was a real talking point and a wonderful way to honour Chinese traditions.
Chinese New Year is all about togetherness, good fortune, and looking forward to the year ahead, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. A huge thank you to our team for making the day so special. If you'd like to find out more about the activities on offer to our residents, please contact us to arrange a tour.
