Kicking Off 2025 with a Real Party

New Year at Templeton House Care Home

What a fantastic time we had at Templeton House as we celebrated the arrival of 2025! The home was alive with excitement as residents, staff, and visitors came together to mark the New Year in true Scottish style. From the first note of music to the last shared laugh, it was a day (and night!) to remember.

We kicked things off with a brilliant New Year’s Eve party. The decorations sparkled, party hats and crowns added a touch of fun, and the room was filled with the sound of music, chatter, and laughter. Residents sang along to their favourite tunes, some couldn’t resist a wee dance, and there were smiles all around. The staff joined in the fun too, making sure everyone felt included and thoroughly enjoyed themselves – it was truly lovely to see everyone having so much fun.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. New Year’s Day brought another chance to come together, this time over a delicious meal. The dining room was beautifully set for the occasion, with crackers to pull, glasses raised in toasts, and plenty of hearty food to enjoy. There was a real sense of togetherness as everyone shared stories, reminisced about years gone by, and looked forward to the year ahead.

For many here in Scotland, Hogmanay – as we call New Year’s Eve – is one of the most important celebrations of the year. It’s a time steeped in tradition and community spirit, from the “first footing” custom, where visitors bring gifts to bring good fortune, to singing “Auld Lang Syne” as the clock strikes midnight. It’s all about starting the year as you mean to go on – surrounded by love, laughter, and good company – and we made sure that spirit was alive and well at Templeton House.

It was wonderful to see the residents in such high spirits, enjoying the music, the food, and, most of all, the company. There’s something truly special about coming together to share these moments, and the warmth in the room was undeniable. Here’s to 2025 being a happy and healthy year for us all – and we’re already looking forward to creating more special memories in the months ahead!
