Life at Templeton House Care Home

We want nothing more than for residents to prosper during their stay at our Ayr care home. Templeton has two Activity Coordinators that go above and beyond to supply exciting activities and events for our residents. By offering a weekly activities programme, residents can look forward to a host of activities each day.

Examples of activities that residents have participated in include arts & crafts, balloon tennis, baking, puzzles, and games, as well as helping to decorate the home for special days such as Burns Night and Easter. We take the time to get to know our residents so that we can include activities that suit their interests.

Being so close to the town centre makes trips out a breeze. Residents don’t have to worry about organising public transport as our chauffeur care service is a complimentary service offered to everyone. Whether residents and their families want to spend the day together, or they have an appointment to go to, our chauffeur is ready and waiting to drive you to your destination.

Nursing care is a type of care provided to those who require a more advanced type of care. For those with physical disabilities, high dependency needs and long-term health conditions, and palliative care needs will receive compassionate, 24 hour care from our expert team of nurses.

Our newly developed private nursing home employs qualified nurses and features specialist nursing equipment for the purpose of improving quality of life. Each resident will be assigned a key nurse who will regularly monitor them, administer medications and take care of their overall needs at any stage of the day and night.

Dementia Care

At Templeton, we recognise that no two people are alike, this includes those living with dementia. Our dedicated staff receive the most up-to-date dementia training and are capable of supporting the different stages of dementia. We recognise that some residents living with dementia only require minor assistance whereas others need significantly more depending on the type of dementia.

Our team will work with their loved ones in order to fully understand not only their needs but the things they like, dislike, their abilities and inabilities so that the most accurate and effective care can be given. Family and friends are welcome to visit loved ones at any time as we believe it’s important for residents well-being.

Respite Care

Respite care is a form of short-term care offered to those in need of a short stay while they recover from a fall or recent stay in hospital. People who are full-time carers for relatives deserve a break and therefore will greatly benefit from respite care. At Templeton House Care Home, every individual will receive the care they need to help get them back on their feet.

Respite care can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months. Just like with our other types of care, you will be assessed prior to admission and a care plan will be created solely for your needs.
